Vision of Total Wellness

We can assume that we are totally well when –

Upon awakening, we look forward to the day’s activity optimistically

We feel emotionally capable of feeling relaxed and contented or enthusiastic and happy

We do not feel anxious, fearful, discontented, or depressed

Our practical thinking is clear, rational and constructive

When individuals apply self discipline then it is possible to further the advancement of our race as a whole, albeit droplet by droplet, we can expect humanity’s progress.

Should we as a group in society, or a group of nations or greater still, contribute a unity of effort come from a small or larger group the result is magnified.

Knowledge of Two Kinds – Heart and Mind

It is not that we need more knowledge about the mind as much as finding how to construct a life- saving bridge from our minds to the knowledge deep in our hearts.

Stranded on the shores of knowledge of the intellect alone, we eventually find ourselves lonely and devoid of real life satisfaction and experience regardless of our accumulation of information.

In Touch with the Guru

We all have times when we are happy to make decisions and feel very confident about ourselves and about our lives.  At other times we suffer from indecision or concern about the path we are taking in our lives or careers and would like to be able to refer to someone we highly regard, who will offer some wisdom in response to our queries or problems.

For many reasons, this is not always easy to do. One of the most common reasons is that we wish to be assured of utter confidentiality and impartiality. Another may be that we do not want anyone else to perceive our seeming inability to cope, or to appear weak. So somehow we seem to manage to find a way around most of the material problems that beset us.

Easter Meditation

At this sacred time we are reminded of the essential message of the Christian celebration of Easter – that is ‘sacrifice.’

There may be many ideas and associations relating to the scriptures and to the idea of sacrifice that can be translated on either a personal level or as a spiritual generality when focussed upon the universal symbolism that Nature demonstrates so vividly for us on this planet in the miracle of growth.

Life After Life After…

What a wonderful thought that our soul is immortal and embarks upon a new chapter and learning curve with each successive human lifetime!

There are many who intuitively feel that subsequent human births will follow this one. Others cannot consider the idea of ‘having to return’ to endure all they have had to this life and totally reject the idea of recycled souls as unfortunately the opportunity for fresh and brighter experiences.

Sadhana – Self-Image

Imagination is the fundamental tool for the individual when forming a self-image.

Unless one creates a self image the personality is apt to become pressured and influenced by what others think, and this may not be as you would wish.

Use your self image to become whatever or whoever you wish to be – to pattern your future, determine your habits and reactions and help you to succeed in your achievements.

Kriya – Yogic Hygiene

In addition to the generally accepted external rules of hygiene, the health practices of Yoga advise additional internal cleansing of the body. Consideration of purification also extends to include the whole psyche that eradicates ill thought and feeling.

The first physical practices known as the Shat Kriyas or 6 traditional cleansing practices of Hatha Yoga are used for correcting symptoms as well as for preventing disease.  Some are incorporated in common Hindu health practices in the home and others are specifically used in yoga ashrams.
